Amanda Barr

Podiatrist Hamilton Central

Amanda grew up in the rural Waikato on a farm and has only left the mighty Waikato to study in Auckland. She graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science (Podiatry) in 2016.

Amanda has a passion for all aspects of podiatry, including sports injuries, ingrown toenails, fungal nails, general podiatric care, and conditions of the foot and lower limb. Amanda took a special interest in paediatric podiatry when her son was born with positional talipes, and how podiatry played a big role in his rehabilitation.

Amanda takes a holistic patient-centred care approach, working with each individual to a tailored treatment plan to help get to the bottom of the root cause, reduce pain, support mobility, and improve overall function.

When Amanda is not in the clinic, she is on call as a volunteer firefighter. When she’s not on the fire ground, she is looking after her two young toddlers with her husband. Amanda also loves being on the farm or competing in motocross.
